Our mission to eliminate cultural and linguistic barriers by providing every child the opportunity to learn a new language. We envision a world where language learning bridges gaps and brings people together.
DinoLingo was established in 2010 and is located in New York City.
The Dinolingo Team
Dinolingo is managed by Annique and Serdar Acar, a husband-and-wife team.
They got married in 2004 in New York City and now manage Dinolingo while raising their two children in New York.
Annique
Annique is from Ireland and moved to New York City in her 20s. She studied fashion and worked with popular fashion brands before joining Dinolingo.
Serdar
Serdar is from Turkiye and moved to New York in his 20s. He studied theatre and film and produced TV shows before becoming part of Dinolingo.
The Dinolingo team consists of contractors and freelancers working remotely from various locations around the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Turkiye, Romania, Ukraine, India, and Spain.
Our story
January 2010
Serdar Acar, the founder of DinoLingo, ended his hopeless search to find an age appropriate, engaging language learning program for his child, and on May 1st 2010, Dinolingo was born. Serdar, with a background in TV productions, along with his brother, a professor in marketing, after consulting with a number of educators came up with the theory of an entertaining language program for children.
August 2011
15 months later, Dinolingo had its first product release. Polish for kids DVD set got published, followed by English. Manufactured in the United States, both sets started to ship worldwide.
July 2013
200 contributors: teachers, translators, language experts, artists, musicians and actors got involved in the massive project, helping the company release its 34th language course and adds more products into its packages, such as flashcards, posters, CDs and books.
June 2014
DinoLingo 1.0 was launched. Our first online platform was then hosted on WordPress. Dinolingo became a fully remote, online subscription based language learning platform for kids.
April 2016
50th language release + 5,000 new eBooks (ePub). These illustrated ePubs are distributed through Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Google and Apple and through major library and school distributors.
August 2018
DinoLingo 2.0 was launched. The new online website and app is launched by adding bunch of new features, the gamification technique and expanding the curriculum. We also released an app to go with it. We stopped shipping physical products altogether.
December 2021
Dinolingo 3.0 was launched after 2 years of hard work. A redesigned website and app with a new business model, a new structure, detailed reporting tools and more content. On the New website, we offer only annual subscriptions with seven day refund policy. We also added a separate school website into our existing site.
2022
We revamped our subscription options to include both monthly and annual plans, enhancing flexibility for our users. We also launched our new iOS and Android apps, offering a seamless mobile experience.
2024
This year marked a significant leap forward with major updates and enhancements. We introduced a wealth of new content features and refined our design to elevate the user experience. Our apps were launched as standalone offerings, independent of the website, providing greater flexibility and convenience. Additionally, we unveiled a fresh design tailored to the unique needs of parents, teachers, and students, making the platform more user-friendly and engaging.
2025
Looking ahead, we have already begun developing a new school portal designed specifically for teachers, offering improved tools and resources for classroom success. For parents, we are reimagining the experience with a simpler dashboard to cater to younger children, along with introducing a store feature to enhance functionality and accessibility. Exciting changes are on the way!
