Moreover, each level of our program is infused with a captivating element of animal themes, ‘birds’, ‘sea animals’, ‘zoo animals’, farm animals’, ‘insects’, etc. further enriching the educational journey for our young learners. From the outset, children are also exposed to basic sentences like ‘hello’, ‘how are you’, ‘good’, ‘goodbye’, ‘what is this’, and ‘this is a…’, etc. While it’s understood that they may not immediately grasp these constructions, the power of repetition plays a crucial role. Questions:
What is the reason for standard languages offering only 266 activities, whereas premium and deluxe languages feature over 1,100?
When we launched our language courses in 2010, each language course began with an equal amount of content. However, as time passed, certain languages gained more popularity, attracting higher customer interest and revenue. This allowed us to invest more resources into these languages, leading to a significant expansion of their content compared to the standard languages.
What CEFR Levels Does Dinolingo Cover?
Dinolingo does not follow CEFR certification or levels. Instead, we use a unique, alternative approach that focuses on making language learning fun and educational for kids. We begin with topics that children find most engaging, such as animals, to spark their interest. As they progress, we introduce basic conversations like greetings (“hello,” “how are you”), gradually building language skills while keeping kids motivated. Our program emphasizes engagement over traditional language learning frameworks. While our courses do not strictly follow traditional language level frameworks such as CEFR, we have structured our program to maintain a progression from simple to more advanced concepts, ensuring that children are continually challenged while remaining engaged.
Is There an Assessment Test Before Starting the Language Course?
Currently, Dinolingo does not offer an initial assessment test to determine the starting level for students, though we are actively developing this feature to better tailor the learning experience to each child’s needs.
For now, most students begin with Lesson 1, which introduces fundamental vocabulary and phrases using our unique, engaging approach designed to build confidence from the ground up. However, if a student already possesses basic language skills or can comfortably communicate in the target language, we recommend starting at Level 3 (Intermediate Level). This level focuses on developing more complex skills, including reading comprehension and sentence formation, aligning with theories of scaffolding in education that support gradually increasing task complexity to match the learner’s growing abilities (Vygotsky, 1978).
You can always assess a student’s language level during our free trial period, allowing you to gauge the most suitable starting point with no risk. This trial period provides an excellent opportunity to observe how the student interacts with the content and to adjust their level based on their performance and comfort. Starting from different lessons during the trial can help identify whether the beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels are the best fit, ensuring a tailored learning experience that matches the student’s existing skills.
