Agra
Agra’s Taj Mahal is one of the most famous buildings in the world and listed as one of the New Seven Wonders in the world. It is a shrine built in 1653 for Shah Jahan’s favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Made of marble, this monument took 22 years for the 20,000 workers, masons and jewelers to build. Many landscaped gardens surround the building.
Jaipur
Jaipur is known as the Pink City. It is the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan. The city is a very famous tourist and educational place to visit. There are many old forts, historical monuments and museums in this city which help tell the history of India.
Goa
Goa is famous for its clean beaches. In the winter time, tourists from Europe come to Goa. In the summertime, during the rainy season, tourists from across India come to spend the holidays.
Kashmir
Kashmir was once called Heaven on Earth. The Himalayan Mountain Range towers over the region. The area is very large with over two million square kilometers.
Kanyakumari
Kanyakumari is especially popular in India for its spectacular sunrise and sunset. The meeting of three ocean bodies – the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea – makes the sunrise and sunset very unique. On full-moon evenings, you can also see the moon rise and sunset at the same time on either side of the horizon!
Kerala (Backwaters)
Kerala is located on the tropical Malabar Coast. It has been called one of the “ten paradises of the world” by the National Geographic Traveler magazine. It is also known for its clean earth initiatives, the beautiful backwaters and alternative healing massages.
Old Delhi
Delhi, the capital of India has mosques, forts and other monuments that represent India’s history. You can visit the Qutub Minar, Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb which are named World Heritage Sites. Besides the historical places, you can see many government buildings and embassies.

Ajantha & Ellora are 28 – 30 rock-cut cave monuments created during the first century B.C. and 5th century A.D. These contain paintings and sculptures.
Darjeeling
Darjeeling is home to Tiger Hill. The snow-capped Everest, Kabru, Kanchenjunga, Jannu and other peaks can be seen. The views of many sunsets are also enjoyed here.
Mysore
Mysore is located within the state of Karnataka. This observes the important ten day long Dasara Festival which celebrates “good over evil”. The Ambavilas Palace is the center of these festivities.
